Some Questions Addressed to Islam, An Apologetic (?)

I am a moslem, and I am proud of it. I love Islam. I see that this religion leads me to understand the world. It helps me explain many things. However, every time I google on the internet, I find out many writings say ugly things about my religion. How I respond to numerous writings on the internet had been on my mind several times before this idea (which was writing an article) came across. That is why then, I make  this writing. Let’s call this writing, as biblical scholars would use the term, an apologetics (though actually Moslems need not to make this kind of apologetics writing because the meaning of apologetics may imply to something that is incorrect so one needs to defend its imperfectness. Islam is perfect). I hope this writing will help you understand Islam from a moslem, not from a non-moslem. How can you understand something from the outsider? How could you take reliable data from someone who barely reads and implements Quran and the teachings of Muhammad on a daily basis? Hence, before you read this writing, it is better also to give some quotations to agitate your judgement:

“Judge not, that you be not judged.” (Bible, ESV, 2001, Matthew 7: 1)

“Judge not, and you will not be judged; … ” (Bible, ESV, 2001, Luke 6:37)

“Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God;” (Romans, ESV, 2001, 14:10)

“And follow not that whereof you have no knowledge. Surely, the hearing, the sight, the heart–all of those shall be questioned of.” (Quran, 17: 36)

“O ye who believe! stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.” (Quran, 5: 8 )

“Surely, the greatest of lies is that who ascribes to me that which I did not say, and who claims to have dreamt what he did not dream, and who claims that he is the son of someone other than his own father.” (al-Shafi`i reported in al-Risalah (394#1090): `Abd al-`Aziz [told us] from Muhammad ibn `Ajlan from `Abd al-Wahhab ibn Bukht from `Abd al-Wahid al-Nasri from Wathilah ibn al-Asqa` from the Prophet pbuh.; Also, reported by Ahmad in al-Musnad (3/491, 4/106, 4/107); al-Bukhari in al-Sahih (Fath al-Bari, 6/540/#3509)).

The list of questions addressed to Islam and their responses are as follows:

  • Islam is new form of Pagan made by Muhammad. Moslems worship Kakbah in Mecca.

Response: http://www.islamic-awareness.org/History/kaaba.html , http://www.fatwaislam.com/fis/index.cfm?scn=fd&ID=890 , and in the history of Islam, the changing of Qibla gives another evidence that moslems do not worship Kakbah.

  • The myth: Islam teaches violence. Islam teaches to kill non-believer.

Response: http://islamicresponse.blogspot.com/2008/07/allegation-that-muhammad-killed-kaab.html ,

  • Islam is anti-christ. Islam hates Jesus.

Response: read this first: http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Contrad/External/crucify.html , then you can read this: http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Contrad/External/marytrin.html, and this: http://www.missionislam.com/comprel/jesuscrucified.htm. Having finished those three, you can watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z29jFDmkoEc. In conclusion: We do not hate Jesus (p.b.u.h.). We love Jesus. It is Muhammad who told us to love Jesus and other prophets (p.b.u.t.) (as Jesus (p.b.u.h.) had said about the coming of a man who would clarify things about him). • The source of Islam’s teaching, Quran, is a product of editing from the people from the years ahead after the death of Muhammad (p.bu.h.). Quran is just as the same as any other “holy book”.

Response: http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Bible/Text/textcriticism.html

  • Islam is violence. Moslems’ perspectives are totally guided by fatwas. Fatwa is a provocation to kill someone.

Response: http://www.questionsaboutislam.com/shariah-islamic-law/what-is-a-fatwa.php

  • Quran is full of grammatical errors.

Response: http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Q_Studies/ , http://www.ummah.com/forum/showthread.php?16998-Response-to-the-claim-of-grammatical-error-in-the-Quran , http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Text/Grammar/gramrefut.html , http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Miracle/ijaz1.html#2

  • Quran did not come from Muhammad (p.b.u.h.), it was a compilation of Arabs custom and tradition OR it was later on added by moslems after the death of Muhammad (p.b.u.h.).

  • Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) was a bloody killer. It was reported that he (p.b.u.h.) killed hundreds of Jews without any clear reason.

  • Quran is full of historical errors.

Response: http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Contrad/External/

  • Quran is full of contradictions.

Response: http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Contrad/http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Contrad/Internal/ , http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Contrad/Mirlogical.html

I think all of those issues are addressed to Islam in order to degrade Islam. However, I do believe that Allah will help this religion “survive” from any attack. I hope that all of the responses I have given may help you understand Islam in a fair way. Wallahu A’lam Wallahu musta’an. Allah knows The Truth, Allah is the best place to seek for help.
